Hamaguchi Study Print Collection
A portion of the Hamaguchi Study Print Collection will be in storage while the college transitions to our new buildings. But a selection of prints has been moved to the Rayko Studios for classroom use. The collection contains examples of a wide variety of printmaking techniques, including intaglio, lithographs, and relief prints. Special sub-collections include Japanese woodcuts, a portfolio by Piranesi, and CCA/C faculty and alumni work.

Seed Library
The seed library was begun in CCA’s Oakland Community Garden, with a focus textile dye & fiber plants. We continue to maintain the library with locally collected and purchased seeds which are adapted to growing in the Bay Area. Visit the Materials Library to “check out” seeds to plant in your own garden - just fill in the form and take the seeds you want.

MUSE carts and Science Equipment Collection
Begun with the support of a National Science Foundation grant, CCA developed the Mobile Units for Science Exploration (MUSE) workspace Simpson Library in 2015. The collection has now moved to Hubbell classroom 141 for use by H&S faculty. The collection evolves to suit the needs of the SCIMA curriculum, in consultation with faculty.

Object Collections
In collaboration with Mara Holt Skov, industrial design faculty, CCA libraries have assembled an Object Collection for use in the classroom. The intent is to create a collection of iconic objects representing a range of trends in design history, giving students an opportunity to study the various qualities of the objects: weight, materiality, ergonomic factors, etc.
The collections are under development and are housed in the Materials Library. Currently, four themed collections are available: Machine Art, Analog Tools, Blobjects and Interface History.
